President Von der Leyen’s support for the European Raw Materials Alliance

ROSI is very glad to hear a very strong support at the EU level for a circular economy for critical raw materials (CRM).

In her opening speech at the EU Industry Days 2021, President Ursula von der Leyen quoted lithium, platinum and silicon as 3 critical metals that are massively imported in Europe in order to roll out the energy transition. With the European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA), the European Union plans to "invest in circular technologies that reuse resources instead of constantly extracting them".

We will do our best to enable this circular economy for highly pure silicon used in the phovoltaic industry. During the manufacturing phase to prevent waste generation, and at the end-of-life of modules to extract this valuable material. We are honored to receive the support of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in this regard.
